  • EAT BEIGNETS  (Maybe in a cemetery) These little puffs of dough served hot with lots of powdered sugar on top are a favorite in NOLA. Some restaurants may serve them stuffed with crawfish or with fruit inside, but in NOLA its just really just the sugar rush, You can enjoy them in the French Quarter at Cafe du Monde on Decatur street across from Famous Jackson Square or at a more local joint like Morning Call in City Park too.
  • HUG AN OAK TREE  (maybe in a cemetery while eating beignets) Live oaks guard New Orleans and provide canopy under their oak alleys all throughout town. New Orleans also have the largest Oak grove in the world, City Park, where  over 10.000 live mature oaks guard over the multitudes of species of swamp  fauna and flora accent exotic wildlife and afterlife that live alongside them in the greens of city park acreage and camouflage in the bayous and lagoons of our swamp environs. But Oaks are everywhere in the city even in some of our Cities of the Dead!
  • SALUTE THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER Our Maman is a Majestic River and her finger lakes and bayous run around through and under New Orleans,- feel her spirit and her power
  • WALK IN THE FRENCH QUARTER Peruse the architecture, look up to see the ironworks and the breathtaking balconies, spy into the secret courtyards peruse our unique architecture, stop in a gallery or too. Remember to look up: on the rooftops and balconies our spirits may just be looking down at you!
  • WALK OUT OF THE FRENCH QUARTER  Explore the rest of the city, take a tour, take a taxi, take a streetcar but, most importantly, just get out and about!
  • LISTEN TO THE MUSIC There’s so much music in this town that sometimes you can hear three bands at once. Pick one and head that way! If you miss something – fear not: there will always be more down the block, across that alley or echoing from some back room. Music surrounds you here.
  • FIND A FETE New festivals seem to pop up every year, it’s harder to find a weekend round New Orleans  without one! From New Orleans April Jazz and heritage festival, to French quarter festival, or the Summers Satchmo Fest. Maybe even brach out to Angola Prison Rodeo for the wildest show in the south and to purchase kick-ass prison arts and crafts  for sale  or  maybe just the little ole Strawberry fest in Pontchatoula is more your style. Fetes are  here to stay and we sure got a slew of  ’em. 
  • SEE THE MUSEUMS People please remember the “cultcha'” -From fine art at NOMA and City Parks Sculpture garden, The Ogden, The Mint, The Presbytyre, the Cabildo, World War II Museum, The Beauregard Keyes House and The Ursuline Convent Museum Or, all the way to our “more funky, but fun” and not to be forgotten museums like: The Pharmacy Museum, Backstreet cultural Museum and the New Orleans Historic Voodoo Museum- eclectic New Orleans has it all
